Creator, Producer, and Curator
In my final year at college, I ran a twice-monthly event, a performance series in an open mic-type format “devoted to the display of any form of art or entertainment (that can be staged or projected) in any stage of development.” It was held in the college’s black box theater, except for one event, which was part of the grand opening of a dorm’s new common space. One of its primary functions was to bridge the gap between the artistic communities of the college and its town; advertising and recruiting was done in the village of Yellow Springs as well as within the school.
